Ascension

They recruit players with destructive powers to come join their cause, and amplify those powers with their own. Usually it's a player who has no other purpose anymore, since all co-players have died. Then, those players are to set out and find the offshoots and erase them. Especially players of Time have a good intuition for this, so the majority tends to be a Time hero. 

There's general not much of a chance to see these players, so knowledge on them is faulty. Also harbingers of destruction ushering in the end, their myths have been intermingled with those of Angels and Cherubs (especially of the malevolent ones). This creates more confusion in scholars about the relationship between Cherubs and Horrorterrors, as we all know of a cherub who mercilessly slaughters horrorterrors whenever he comes across them.

Due to their power level being jacked up through the roof, it's hard for them to be killed. Even then it's unsure whether they would actually stay dead then, since the death of these servants is an event of which still-existing witnesses might be counted on one hand.
